Where am I?! + Exciting News | Update!

Monday, 19 May 2014

At Easter my best friend Beth came home from Uni, I miss her lots but we speak everyday before I get sad that she isn't here, she's a photographer currently living in Norwich. Whilst she was home I helped her out with a few shoots (some for uni and some for fun - like the above image) and I just thought I'd give you an insight into how good she actually is. You can find more of her work over HERE and HERE, if you're after some photos done and you live near or in Norwich - she'll also be back home up in Lincolnshire in the summer if you don't, I'd highly recommend her, not just because she's my friend, but because she is such a talented lady with so much to give.

Anyway! Apologies for my huge absence in the past 2 or so weeks, I don't exactly have excuses but I do have reasons for the break. The first week of the break was a very unexpected busy time at work, I was getting up at 7am and going to sleep at 9pm - it was utterly exhausting and I struggled to find the time or the motivation to do anything when I got home. All I wanted to do was sleep for a week!

More excitingly however, the past week I have been doing a complete makeover of my room, from floor to ceiling! My new furniture comes this week (including a new bed which makes me want to cry with excitement) and soon everything will be back in it's rightful place - I'm pretty sure I'll be doing a proper update post on my room! For the past week and a half all my things - clothes, make up, even underwear, haven't been in my room but in fact scattered around my parents and my brothers room (and even on the landing and in the airing cupboard) so I've found it incredibly difficult to take new photos and such, and again with the exhaustiveness - who knew decorating was so much effort?! Christ.

So that is where I have been, this week should be a new week - a new beauty post should be up tomorrow fingers crossed and then a new post on Friday, and then the routine should hopefully be Tuesdays and Fridays if all goes well. I'm going to try real hard at sticking to that no matter what my circumstances! I'm also incorporating a more varied approach on blogging in the near future, featuring more about lifestyle, food, fitness and fashion rather than just reviews after reviews, I'm hoping it will bring a bit more life into my blog.

I do have a new 8 part series coming up too all about summer holidays (including beauty, fashion and some pictures of my holiday in June/July!) which is incredibly exciting - probably more for me than anyone else! I do have a few shopping trips planned already so I will probably be quite heavy with the haul posts, I already have three collective hauls to post and that's without any real shopping trip!

I also feel that I'm at the stage where I'm going to do a tattoo post/update, on the 6th June I will be getting a new tattoo - which is going to be a cover up BUT I'm going to do a whole post on that alone, hopefully some of you will actually find this interesting and maybe learn from what I've done in the past and hopefully my experiences of my tattoos will be perhaps a lesson to some of you who are interested in tattoos.

Again, apologies for the absence, and apologies for this huge and rambly post. Thank you all for supporting and thank you for the ladies who tweeted me to make sure I was still alive. I have the best followers ever and if you've read this huge post, thank you!

I hope you're all doing well, if you have any feedback or posts that you'd like to see from me please do comment or even tweet me (@loubarkerxo), I will take your opinions on board and hopefully help me to build and learn myself about my blog!

  1. The photo above your post is lovely, your friend is very talented! Re-decorating is a pain in the bum but just think of how good it will all look when it's finished. I'm looking forward to reading your new posts as when everything is settled.
