Daily Routine // Skincare! ♥

Monday, 1 July 2013

The secret to nice makeup, is nice skin. Over the past year or so, I have really grown up with my skincare - face wipes are a thing of the past! And honestly, I have noticed such a massive difference in my skin. It feels and looks so much better without makeup. I genuinely cannot remember the last time it actually felt this nice. I have two separate routines, one for the morning and one for the evening. I'll show you what I use in the morning first :-)
I first use Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing Cleansing Lotion on a cotton pad, I have found this to be a lot more refreshing and soothing in the morning rather than when trying to take a face of makeup off. The smell is natural and not heavily scented and it leaves my face squeaky clean and soft in the morning. I then use the Boots Skin Clear Oil-Free Mattifying Lotion and leave it for about 10 minutes before I put any makeup on - it is a brilliant moisturiser and brilliant at keeping oil controlled. I have featured this lotion in a blog post HERE. I also pop Palmers Cocoa Butter Lip Balm on to soak in before I apply any lipstick or products to my lips. I find this soaks in quickly and does hydrate my lips - it's also SPF15 which is a bonus!

Now for my night time routine!
First I wash my face with Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash, this takes the bulk of my makeup off quickly. I don't use a flannel or cotton wool pads with this. I simply rinse it off with my hands and warm running water. I find for me that's the easiest way. I then pat my skin dry and use the Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Cream on a cotton wool pad all over my face. I find this takes the last traces of any makeup off. I love the formula of this cleanser and I will definitely repurchase it. It's really working wonders for my skin and helping reduce the redness and acne scarring that I have.
After cleansing I use No7 Pore Refining Serum just around my nose and cheeks, I haven't noticed a remarkable difference - if at all, but I'm still trialing it (more like using it up), it soaks in fast and does feel nice on the skin. I then moisturise using Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser, I swear by this moisturiser and I will for a very long time. It's the only moisturiser which is rich but doesn't leave my face greasy or oily. I don't use it in the morning because it is quite 'heavy' but it does an amazing job as a night cream.

Do not forget about the lips! They need cleansing and moisturising too. I use the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub to get rid of any dry skin, or flakiness on my lips. It does an amazing job and it tastes so god damn good. I follow that with the Nivea Lip Butter (Caramel) which is heavenly and I often have to re-apply this from 'accidentally' licking it off. This stuff is so nice. It really does moisturise and hydrate my lips and it stops them from getting dry. It is hard to keep on the lips but it's definitely worth trying!
Once a week I mask my face using the Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk. I just put between one and two pumps all over my face (avoid around the eyes!) and I find this really gives my face a really deep clean and I notice a bigger difference using this product as a mask rather than an everyday cleanser. I have reviewed it HERE as an everyday cleanser but I do find this works so much better as a mask and a treat for the face!
